If you’re wondering what the Saas-Fee nightlife is like, don’t come here expecting the huge party scene you find in some of the famous Austrian ski resorts.
Compared to places like St Anton, Saas-Fee has a much smaller and more relaxed nightlife scene. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing happening after the lifts close.
After a day on the slopes, you’ll find plenty of people heading to the bars for après-ski, drinks and music. The atmosphere is a mix of locals, tourists and seasonal workers, and some of the smaller bars can get surprisingly lively during the winter season.
If you’re looking for a relaxed evening with a few drinks, Saas-Fee has plenty of options. And if you do want to keep partying into the night, there are places where you can do that too.
Here are some of the best bars and nightlife spots to check out in Saas-Fee.

Après-Ski In Saas-Fee
The après-ski scene is probably the biggest part of Saas-Fee nightlife.
After skiing, people start gathering around the bars for drinks before heading back to their accommodation or continuing their evening in the village.
The atmosphere is generally more cosy and relaxed than the big Austrian ski resorts. You won’t find the same huge après-ski parties as in St Anton, but that can actually be part of the appeal if you prefer something a little less intense.

Here are some of the places worth checking out.

Want to know where to stay?
Here is my number one hotel in Saas-Fee:
Nesti’s Ski Bar
Nesti’s Ski Bar is one of the classic après-ski spots in Saas-Fee.
It’s a great place to stop after skiing, grab a drink and enjoy the mountain atmosphere before heading back into the village.
During the busy winter months, you can expect a fun après-ski atmosphere, especially around the end of the ski day.
If you want to experience the more social side of skiing in Saas-Fee, this is a good place to start.
Metro Bar
For something a little more relaxed, head to Metro Bar.
Metro Bar is a cosy option for an evening drink with friends. Compared with some of the louder après-ski spots, the atmosphere is more laid-back.
It’s a good choice if you want to have a few drinks and chat without necessarily turning the night into a huge party.
Old Cinema Pub
Old Cinema Pub is an interesting place to check out if you want a more local atmosphere.
The bar is popular with seasonal workers, so it can be a good place to meet people who are actually living and working in Saas-Fee during the winter season.
That gives it a slightly different feeling from a typical tourist après-ski bar.
If you’re travelling solo or want to meet other people during your trip, places like this can be particularly fun.
Pubwise Bar
Pubwise Bar is another relaxed option for an evening out.
It’s a good place to start your night with a drink before deciding where to go next.
If you’re not looking for a huge club or loud party, Pubwise is a nice option for a more casual evening with friends.
The Larix Bar
If you want to go straight from the slopes into après-ski, The Larix Bar is worth checking out.
Its location makes it particularly convenient at the end of a ski day, as you can finish skiing and head straight here for a drink.
The Larix is especially popular for après-ski during the winter season and is a great option if you want to keep the ski-day atmosphere going for a little longer.

High Life Après Ski Club
If you want something a little more energetic, High Life Après Ski Club is one of the places to check out.
Expect louder music, drinks and a more energetic crowd than you would find in some of the smaller bars.
It’s a good choice if your idea of après-ski involves more dancing and partying rather than simply sitting down for a drink.
Project X
If you want to continue your night after the bars, Project X is the nightclub to know in Saas-Fee.
This is where you can continue partying into the night with music, drinks and a younger, more energetic crowd.
When I visited, it was extremely busy and definitely had a fun atmosphere.
That said, it’s important to keep your expectations realistic.
Compared with the famous Austrian ski resorts, the clubbing scene in Saas-Fee is still relatively small. You’re not going to get the huge clubs, massive crowds and legendary après-ski atmosphere that you can find in places like St Anton.
But if you want to go out after skiing and have a proper night out, Project X is definitely worth checking out.
What Is Saas-Fee Nightlife Like?
I’d describe Saas-Fee nightlife as cosy, social and relatively small.
The après-ski scene is definitely the main attraction, with people heading to bars straight from the slopes. Later in the evening, you can move on to pubs and eventually Project X if you want to keep partying.
One thing I liked about the nightlife is the mix of people. You’ll find tourists enjoying their ski holiday alongside locals and seasonal workers who spend the entire winter in Saas-Fee.
This can make the smaller bars feel quite social and easy-going.
Is Saas-Fee Good For Nightlife?
If nightlife is one of the most important parts of your ski holiday, Saas-Fee probably wouldn’t be my first choice.
If you compare it with places like St Anton, the nightlife is much smaller.
If you’re still deciding between European ski destinations, I’ve also compared Austria, France and Switzerland in my ski destination guide.
St Anton is famous for its huge après-ski culture, packed bars and late nights. Saas-Fee feels much more relaxed by comparison.
However, if you want a ski destination where you can ski during the day, enjoy some après-ski and have a few drinks with friends in the evening, Saas-Fee definitely delivers.
And honestly, I think the smaller nightlife scene fits Saas-Fee quite well. The village itself has a more peaceful and traditional Alpine atmosphere, so it doesn’t feel like the entire destination revolves around partying.
My Favourite Way To Spend An Evening In Saas-Fee
If I were planning an evening in Saas-Fee, I’d start with après-ski after finishing on the slopes.
Have a drink, enjoy the atmosphere and see where the evening takes you. Afterwards, you can head into the village for dinner and drinks before deciding whether you want to continue to one of the bars or go to Project X.
That way, you get to experience the social side of Saas-Fee without making nightlife the entire focus of your trip.
Saas-Fee Nightlife vs St Anton
Having experienced both destinations, I would say they offer very different experiences.
St Anton is the place to go if you want legendary après-ski, big parties and nightlife that continues well into the night.
Saas-Fee is better if you want beautiful mountains, skiing, a cosy village atmosphere and some fun nightlife on the side.
So if you’re choosing between the two specifically for partying, I’d definitely choose St Anton.
But if you want a more balanced ski holiday where nightlife is there when you want it, without taking over the entire trip, Saas-Fee is a great option.
Final Thoughts On Saas-Fee Nightlife
Saas-Fee may not be one of the biggest party destinations in the Alps, but there is still enough going on to have a fun night after skiing.
From classic après-ski spots like Nesti’s and The Larix to relaxed bars like Metro Bar and Pubwise, you have plenty of options for an evening drink. And if you want to keep the party going, Project X is the place to finish your night.
Just don’t come to Saas-Fee expecting St Anton.
The nightlife here is smaller, more relaxed and more intimate, which I actually think suits the atmosphere of the village perfectly.
