Malta

I spent 8 days travelling around Malta, staying in St Julian’s and exploring the island as a solo traveller. I came here expecting beautiful beaches and clear blue water, but what surprised me most was how easy it was to meet people, find spontaneous plans and experience Malta beyond just sightseeing.

From the historic streets of Valletta and the medieval streets of Mdina to the Blue Lagoon, Gozo, beach days and Malta’s famous nightlife, there’s a lot more to the island than I expected.

This Malta Travel Guide brings together everything I’ve learned from my trip, including the best places to visit, where to stay, beaches, things to do, food, nightlife, solo travel tips and practical advice for planning your own Malta trip.

Whether you’re planning a short Malta getaway, a solo trip, a beach holiday or a longer backpacking adventure, I’m sharing the places I loved, the things I’d do differently and the experiences that made Malta special to me.

Why Travel Malta Like This?

What I loved most about travelling around Malta was how much variety you can find on such a small island.

One day you’re walking through the historic streets of Valletta or Mdina, the next you’re swimming in the Blue Lagoon, exploring a fishing village, watching the sunset from the coast or ending the night in Paceville.

And because I travelled solo and stayed in a social hostel, Malta also became a very social trip for me. I met people almost everywhere I went, made spontaneous plans and ended up experiencing parts of the island I probably wouldn’t have found if I had planned every day in advance.

This Malta Travel Guide is based on those real experiences, not just the obvious highlights, but also the places I actually enjoyed, the things I learned and the little details that made my trip what it was.

Final Note

Whether you’re planning a quick Malta getaway, a solo trip, a beach holiday or a longer Mediterranean adventure, I hope these Malta travel guides help you figure out where to go, what to see and how to make the most of your time on the island.
