Morocco

Apparently, everyone and their mother decided to go to Morocco this year. My entire FYP was suddenly full of surftrips to Taghazout and people eating way too much Moroccan food, so naturally, I had to go too.

I’d already been to Marrakech before, but this time I travelled to Agadir, Taghazout and Marrakech with my best friend, and honestly? I was very pleasantly surprised.

I didn’t really know what to expect going back to Morocco, but I ended up absolutely loving it. From the colourful streets and busy souks of Marrakech to the laid-back surf atmosphere in Taghazout and the beach days in Agadir, every place had a completely different vibe.

So if you’re planning your own Morocco trip, this is where you’ll find all my Morocco travel guides, tips, things to do, places to eat, where to stay and honest experiences from my time there.

Whether you’re planning a city break in Marrakech, a beach trip to Agadir, a surf escape to Taghazout or a combination of all three, I’ve got you covered.

Still wondering whether you should go? Read this article.

Why Travel Morocco Like This?

What I liked about this trip was that we could keep that backpacker feeling without having to sacrifice all our comfort.

I travelled with my best friend and we stayed in hostels throughout the trip, but because we were two people, private rooms were often almost the same price as two dorm beds. So most of the time, we simply booked a private room. The exception was Marrakech, where we stayed in a dorm.

It was honestly the perfect middle ground for us. We could still stay in social hostels, meet other travellers and get that backpacker atmosphere, while having our own space at the end of the day.

And that’s also what I try to bring into these guides: the practical information I actually wish I had, mixed with my own experiences rather than just a list of things you can find anywhere online.

Final Note

Morocco wasn’t necessarily a destination I had been dreaming about going back to. It was more a case of seeing it everywhere, getting curious and deciding to go, and I’m very glad I did.

So if you’re planning your own Morocco trip, I hope these guides help you discover the country beyond just the places you keep seeing on your FYP.

Whether you’re here for the colourful streets of Marrakech, the beaches of Agadir, the surf atmosphere of Taghazout or simply some good Moroccan food, I hope you find something useful for your own trip.

And yes, I guess sometimes everyone and their mother really does know something you don’t.
