Australia Travel Diaries

9 months. One Working Holiday. A lot of stories.

If you’re new here, this is where my Australia story begins.

I spent 9 months travelling, working and living across Australia on a Working Holiday, and somewhere between long bus rides, hostel kitchens, road trips, random jobs, nights out and places I never expected to love, I started collecting way too many stories.

These Australia travel diaries are the more personal side of that journey. They’re not polished travel guides or lists of things you should see. They’re the moments in between, the first days that didn’t go according to plan, the people I met, the places that became home, the chaotic nights, the quiet mornings and everything I experienced along the way.

Start with my very first days in Australia and follow the story as it unfolded across cities, coastlines and countless unexpected detours.

Read My Australia Travel Diaries

This is a collection of real stories from my time backpacking Australia, written from the perspective of actually being there.

From arriving in Sydney and figuring out life on a Working Holiday to travelling along the coast, living in Byron Bay, exploring Tasmania and finding places that eventually felt like home, these diaries document what travelling Australia was actually like for me.

If you’re planning your own Australia trip, these stories might give you a different kind of travel inspiration. And if you’re simply curious about what 9 months of backpacking Australia really looked like, start wherever you want and follow the journey from there.

The Story Doesn’t End Here

Looking back, those 9 months in Australia became so much more than just a trip. There were places I fell in love with, people who became part of my story, jobs I never expected to have, and plenty of moments that definitely didn’t go according to plan.

These diaries are my way of holding on to all of it, the good, the messy, the funny and the completely chaotic.

But if you’re planning your own Australia adventure and looking for the practical side of things, I’ve got you covered too.

From road trip itineraries and city guides to where to stay, what to do and all the little tips I wish I’d known before travelling Australia.
