Some of the highlights are within just a few minutes’ walk of each other, so this is an easy part of the city to explore without a strict itinerary.

Take your time, look up at the architecture and don’t be afraid to wander down the smaller streets.

This is also why I recommend spending at least a few days in Innsbruck instead of rushing through it.

7. See the Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl)

Best for: Innsbruck’s most famous landmark

The Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl) is probably the most recognisable sight in Innsbruck.
