If you’ve started looking for accommodation in St. Anton am Arlberg, you’ve probably noticed one thing very quickly…
Hotels in the village are expensive.
If you’re travelling on a budget but still want to ski one of Austria’s best ski resorts, staying just outside St. Anton can save you a lot of money.
That’s exactly why I stayed at Hotel Pezina in Flirsch.
Although it’s about a 15-minute drive from St. Anton, it offers excellent value for money and is a great choice if you don’t mind a short commute each day.
If you’re planning a ski trip, don’t miss my complete St. Anton am Arlberg Travel Guide, where I share everything you need to know before visiting.
Location
Hotel Pezina is located in the small village of Flirsch, around 12 km from St. Anton am Arlberg.
By car, it takes roughly 15 minutes to reach the ski lifts.
Don’t have a car?
No problem.
The ski bus stop is only a short walk from the hotel, making it easy to reach the slopes without driving. There are also night buses during the winter season, so you can stay in St. Anton for après-ski before heading back later in the evening.
For me, this was one of the biggest advantages.
You get the cheaper accommodation without completely missing out on the lively atmosphere of St. Anton.
That also means you can still experience the resort’s famous après-ski scene before heading back to the hotel.
The Rooms
The rooms are simple but comfortable.
Don’t expect luxury or a boutique hotel experience, but everything was clean, well maintained and had everything I needed after a long day on the slopes.
If your priority is skiing rather than spending all day in your hotel room, it does the job perfectly.

Half Board
One thing I really appreciated is that half board is available.
After skiing all day, it was nice not having to look for a restaurant every evening.
Breakfast offers plenty of choice to start your day, while dinner usually consists of a three-course meal with regional dishes, making it a convenient option after a full day in the mountains.
Facilities
Hotel Pezina has everything you need for a comfortable ski holiday, including:
- Comfortable rooms
- Restaurant
- Hotel bar
- Wellness area with sauna and steam bath
- Ski storage
- Free parking (subject to availability)
- Free Wi-Fi
- Half board available
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Much cheaper than staying in St. Anton itself.
- Great value for money.
- Ski bus stop nearby.
- Night buses allow you to enjoy après-ski.
- Half board available.
- Comfortable and clean rooms.
- Wellness area to relax after skiing.
Cons
- It’s not in St. Anton itself.
- You’ll spend around 15–20 minutes travelling each day.
- If you like walking straight from your hotel to the ski lifts, this isn’t the best choice.
Is Hotel Pezina Worth It?
For me, yes.
If your goal is to ski in St. Anton am Arlberg without paying the very high accommodation prices in the village itself, Hotel Pezina is a smart alternative.
Of course, staying outside St. Anton means sacrificing a bit of convenience.
But thanks to the nearby ski bus, the possibility of taking night buses after après-ski, and the lower room rates, I think it’s a compromise that’s absolutely worth making for many travellers.
I’d especially recommend Hotel Pezina if you’re travelling on a budget, visiting with friends, or simply want to spend your money on skiing rather than on an expensive hotel room.
