A Perfect 7-Day Tenerife Itinerary

Tenerife is one of those magical islands where every day feels like a new adventure. From volcanic landscapes and hidden beaches to stunning sunsets, delicious tapas, and vibrant nightlife — there’s always something new to discover. If you’re planning a week here, I’ve put together my personal 7-day itinerary that combines adventure, relaxation, hidden gems, local vibes, and just the right amount of indulgence.

Day 1: Arrival & Settling In

Arrival day is all about taking it slow and getting familiar with your surroundings. Check into your hotel or apartment, drop off your luggage, and explore the area nearby. Walk around local streets, pop into small shops, and find a few cozy bars or restaurants to get your first taste of Tenerife.

I personally love wandering into little local stores and discovering cafes or bars. Tapas are a must — try some patatas bravas, fresh seafood, or a small plate of everything!

Pro tip: head to the rental counter as soon as possible and rent your car. Tenerife is bigger than it looks, and having your own wheels gives you the freedom to explore hidden beaches, volcanic landscapes, and north-to-south in a single day. Spend the evening by the pool or enjoying a relaxed dinner nearby — a calm start to your week is perfect.

Day 2: Hidden Beaches & Scenic Walks

Start your morning hunting down secret swimming spots. Tenerife has so many tucked-away coves, and I’m obsessed with those little ladders leading to crystal-clear water — perfect for a peaceful morning swim. One of my favorites is Calle La Falue, quiet, serene, and away from the tourist crowds.

In the afternoon, take a scenic walk or hike. Whether it’s Montaña de La Botija & Montaña Samara in the north or a shorter volcanic trail, the landscapes are unforgettable. Layers are a must here — it can be cooler and windier in the north, and some paths are steep or rocky. Bring snacks and water, and let yourself get lost in the wild beauty of Tenerife. Evening: Head to La Caleta for one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island. Wander along the waterfront, enjoy the ocean breeze, and grab dinner at Troqué Restaurante or Mirlo La Caleta. Both spots serve amazing food in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere — tapas, seafood, and local dishes that make you fall in love with Tenerife all over again. Sunset + dinner = pure magic.

Day 3: Playa de Las Americas – Beach, Shopping & Nightlife

Spend the day at Playa de Las Americas. Start with sunbathing, swimming, or simply lounging with a cocktail in hand. This beach perfectly balances energy and chill vibes, with options for surfing or just relaxing.

In the afternoon, wander the local shopping streets. From souvenir shops to boutiques and beachwear stores, it’s perfect for finding gifts or just treating yourself. Don’t forget to stop for a snack or ice cream along the way — little hidden cafes make this area extra charming.

As evening falls, the nightlife kicks in. Playa de Las Americas comes alive with bars, music, and cocktails. Hop between spots, dance a little, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere — it’s the perfect mix of daytime relaxation and night-time fun.

Day 4: Chill & Mount Teide Adventure

Take a slow morning — recover from Day 3 with a lazy breakfast, coffee with a view, or a poolside chill session. Tenerife is perfect for mixing adventure with downtime.

In the afternoon, head to Mount Teide, Spain’s tallest peak. Even a partial cable car ride offers jaw-dropping views of the volcanic landscapes. Wear layers and good hiking shoes — the wind can be strong at the summit. Bring water and snacks, and prepare to feel on top of the world.

Day 5: Explore the North

The north of Tenerife is often overlooked but full of charm. Start at Palmetum, a stunning botanical garden with exotic plants and peaceful walking paths. Nearby are warm water springs — perfect for a post-walk soak.

Head to Taganana, a small village with traditional Canarian charm. Explore narrow streets, enjoy coastal views, and try local cuisine. The north is greener, cooler, and quieter — perfect if you love nature and slower-paced exploration. Check out my Top 10 Things to Do in Tenerife for hidden gems you shouldn’t miss.

Day 6: Siam Park & Rocka Negra Evening

For thrill-seekers or just lovers of water fun, Siam Park is a must. Go mid-week for fewer crowds, and you could spend the full day here on slides, lazy rivers, and attractions.

Combine it with some evening shopping at Siam Park Shopping Centre — Tenerife has surprisingly good deals on clothes, beauty products, and souvenirs.

Wrap up your day at Hard Rock Hotel by starting with a stroll through the hotel and grabbing a drink. Then, continue by walking along Playa El Pingue or Avenida Adeje until you reach Rocka Negra, where you can enjoy dinner and a cocktail. It’s such a charming little spot in Tenerife, and the sunset views are absolutely stunning. The lively atmosphere, occasionally enhanced by small dance performances, makes for a truly memorable evening.

Day 7: Beach Day & Farewell

Finish your week with a full-on beach day. Lounge with a cocktail, swim in the clear waters, and soak up your last hours of sun. Reflect on a week filled with hidden coves, hikes, tapas, nightlife, and breathtaking landscapes.

When it’s time to fly back, you’ll leave with a sun-kissed glow, a relaxed mind, and a heart full of memories.
